Chris Montez’s “Let’s Dance” was recorded in 1962. Montez was only 19 years old when it was released. The song, written and produced by Jim Lee, was able to climb to the number 4 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US and the number 2 spot on the UK Singles Chart, spending four weeks there. It sold more than one million copies and was given a gold disc as well.

The 60s were one of the best eras when it came to music. Not only was the music awesome, but so was the dance scene. Just take for example, the incredible dancers in this clip! Montez was really popular – even the Beatles opened three of his concerts for him while he was performing with Tommy Roe. Even though his music’s popularity began to fade, he soon made a comeback with “Call Me” in 1966.
