Mobula rays are also known as devil fish of the ocean. They are in the family of eagle rays and have similar appearance to manta rays. Species of this genera are often collectively referred to as “flying rays”. Even though they travel and live with their small school, Natgeo records this incredible event of thousands of mobula rays gathered together. This is an unexplained and unimaginable event that humans have never seen before.
These rays can attain a disc width of up to 5.2m (17 ft). They probably weigh over a ton and are the second largest Manta species in size. However, little is known about this specie.
In this video by Natgeo, thousands of mobula rays are gathered together. It looks like a great festival of these fishes. At a point, they even fly. And it’s a really incredible scene.
